Deloraine is about 30 minutes from Launceston or Devonport by car and is set against the backdrop of the Great Western Tiers on the banks of the Meander River in north-eastern Tasmania. The town presents the gateway to the Mole Creek Karst National Park which has spectacular underground limestone caves, stalactite and stalagmite formations, subterranean streams, cathedral caverns and glow worm displays.
